About Stevenson Consulting

I’ve spent my entire career in education, but my work has never been about chasing the next initiative. It’s always been about building systems that actually support people.

I began as a classroom teacher, moved into school leadership as a principal, and later served as a superintendent in Idaho. Across every role, I saw the same pattern repeat itself: talented educators working incredibly hard inside systems that weren’t designed to help them succeed.

That observation shaped everything I do now.

As the founder of Stevenson Consulting, I partner with educational leaders to bring clarity to complex work. My focus is on early literacy systems, leadership development, and school improvement, but at the core, my work is about helping leaders think strategically, act intentionally, and sustain meaningful change.

I bring a deep understanding of evidence-based literacy practices, including structured literacy and the Reading Rope, alongside a strong background in systems thinking and implementation science. I’ve led and supported large-scale professional learning efforts, coached administrators across career stages, and worked directly with districts navigating improvement and turnaround work.

What sets my work apart is the combination of practical experience and systems-level thinking. I understand the realities of classrooms, the pressures facing school leaders, and the complexity of district decision-making. That perspective allows me to help leaders move beyond compliance and into coherence.

I believe strong leadership is learned, not inherited. I believe systems should serve people, not the other way around. And I believe sustainable improvement happens when clarity replaces overwhelm.

Stevenson Consulting is based in Idaho and serves school and district leaders locally and beyond. Whether I’m working with a single principal or a statewide cohort, my goal is the same: to help leaders build thoughtful, aligned systems that improve outcomes for students and create healthier, more effective schools.

In my personal life:

I am a wife and a mom of two boys that attend an Idaho public school. I love to fish and spend time in the Idaho outdoors either on the boat or at the family cabin. I am working on writing a fictional novel based off of some of my experiences in being a wildland firefighter and I have an active substack called Pine Needles & Chalk Dust where I catalog our family adventures in Truck building, novel writing, and leadership.
